Cons: Mercury, in its various forms, has a great attraction to the sulfhydryls or thiols—these sulfa bonds.
Other: Mercury is the most potent enzyme inhibitor that exists. The bottom line is that no other element including oxygen has more of an ability to combine with other elements than sulfur.
